The Divine Destroyer - Goddess of Time, Death, and Transformation
Goddess Kali is the fierce form of Goddess Parvati. She is the goddess of time, death, and doomsday. Kali is often depicted with dark blue or black skin, wild hair, a garland of skulls, and a skirt made of severed arms. Despite her fearsome appearance, she is a loving mother to her devotees.
Kali represents the death of the ego and the transformative power of time. She emerged from Durga's forehead to defeat the demon Raktabija. Her name means "Time" or "The Black One." She is standing on Lord Shiva, representing that she is the Shakti (power) without whom Shiva is lifeless.
