Goddess Lakshmi is the Hindu goddess of wealth, fortune, prosperity, beauty, and abundance. She is the consort of Lord Vishnu and is often depicted seated on a lotus flower with gold coins flowing from her hands. She emerged from the cosmic ocean during the Samudra Manthan.
